Okay i installed the new leaked (.85) OS and i hate it. I find it slow and buggy, and yes i know it was not an official release. i want to put the older .76 version back on my phone. Anybody know how i can do this without loosing my contacts??

sync your contacts in outlook on your pc, then completely wipe your storm and then reload .83.

Remove .83 from your computer through the Control Panel. Then download and install .76 to your computer>plug in device>open DM> and it should prompt you to update. Make sure to backup before starting this process.

So i uninstall the update (.83) or do i uninstall the entire BM application? I cant seem to find only the update.

wipe you storm and then reinstall the OS .76. The link will be on this site somewhere.

Just search this site.

use Desktop manager, and use application uploader.

remember to uninstall .83 from your pc or it will just put that version back on since it is the newest.

awesome, i appreciate all of the help, but how do i do a complete whipe? also, i did a wipe before and it deleted all of my BBM contacts, anyway i can wipe it and keep my same pin# and contacts?

You do not need to wipe on every upgrade. Also, always backup before upgrading. But heres the process: Backup. Then Wipe. Then install the OS. Then restore from the backup. The backup saves all of your personal info from contacts, BBM, emails, etc. So yes, you just restore from a backup and all of your info will be there.

Again i appreciate that, but how do i wipe it properly? just the "wipe handheld" option? And everytime i try and backup, it tells me there's an error. Im new to the Blackberry ****

Make sure you have the .76 on your computer and not the .83.

If you backup and then restore as directed, you won't lose anything.
