I just got a replacement Storm. On my old one I removed all icons: SMS/MMS, Yahoo!, Balckberry and Gmail EXCEPT for the generic "Messages" icon. Ireceived EVERYTHING through that icon: texts, MMS, Yahoo, Gmail, etc. No matter what it was I got a notification and a red star on that icon.

With my new storm, I get all of my email there but my texts I have to go throught the SMS/MMS icon. I'm trying to have as few icons as possible on my home screen so with my new on, I have to add the SMS/MMS since it doesn't show on the Messages icon.

Is there a setting I am missing? Is there a problem with my mew Storm or was my old one 'unique'???

messages -> Options -> General Options -> SMS and Email Inboxes -> combined

Thanks. I've looked through options several times but I didn't remember doing this before.
