Ever since I activated my Storm (for Verizon) I keep getting these random SMS's from this number: 100198030192 and the body of the SMS is:

//BREW:0x01034FD9:1,,1228605547,1,16E21AB9273B7B4C1B CAEFDC93CAB7DBFB3BCB1A

They always seem to come in 2's and I get at least 2~3 sets a day. Anyone else having this issue?

There are some other threads that already address this issue. Use the search tool and search for BREW and you should find your answer.

I believe those are coming from Vcast. Did you sign up for Accuweather or breaking news alerts? Yo are probably going to have to call Verizon c/s to get them turned off.

Try the search that NIU suggested. It fixed the issues for those that were having it then.

Yes its from a prior subscription or other notices the old school phone you used to have would receive. Especially if you used mobile email or the like.

Thanks guys, I had done a search on the exact message I received but I guess I should have generalized my search criteria and I would have seen that.
