I noticed that when I need to type a password in browser or something else like setting email, it goes to multi-tap even though I have the portrait input set to suretype. Is this standard for the storm or can I change this option to suretype?

Probably set that way on purpose because of the predictive input.

It is that way specifically so you can multi-tap a password in correctly since most passwords aren't generally "common" words.
