I remember in earlier talk that a 624 processor was in the Storm, but I haven't seen (unless I missed it) any mention of it in any of these "leaks" or the powerpoint. Can 624 be confirmed ( ) by anyone?
It's supposed to be 674 collectively. I believe it's downclocked to 624. It's a dual-core design. One core is running at 400 something (main core) and the co-processor is running at 100 something.
Just like the BlackBerry 8800 series, the CDMA version of the BlackBerry Curve 8300 scaled back on the processor front from the GSM version. Gone is the Xscale 312MHz processor found on the Curve 8320 (T-Mobile) and the Curve 8310 (AT&T), instead the Curve 8330 gets the Qualcomm MSM6550 Chipset running at 225 MHz, an ARM9 family CPU.
Is this information correct? I've seen a lot of posts refer to 312mhz, and you say 400mhz.
It may have been an exaggeration, but it is the truth. It wouldn't make much difference for one OPS, but it can put a dent in an instruction setting up multiple.
OK
Sorry I am a bit confused. It was post in the storm 9530/9500 forum in a thread about the processor speed of the storm, not sure as to why an old thread was dug up to discuss the curve 8330 processor speed. But what ever. carry on.

Oh I didn't even notice the forum. I found it by a Google search for the Curve processor and my earlier post was in response to someone else's post about the Curve's processor speed.
