I remember in earlier talk that a 624 processor was in the Storm, but I haven't seen (unless I missed it) any mention of it in any of these "leaks" or the powerpoint. Can 624 be confirmed ( ) by anyone?
The MSM7600 is the only Qualcomm chipset that can do all the radio bands that the 9530 has in it based on released specs for the phone. Since it's a CDMA phone primarily, you're always guaranteed it'll be a Qualcomm chipset in it. Because of that, it has to be the 7600 as the current 7500 doesn't have some of the features.

The MSM7600 can go all the way up to 1GHz, but I doubt it'll be clocked that high. However, it'll be a 7600. Sticking with the 7500 (which is what current CDMA Blackberries use) make no sense, not to mention the above mentioned capabilities the 7500 does not cover.
Apperently I was wrong about this. So I have stumbled across some other info which more then likely points to there being a Qualcomm MSM7501A RISC Chipset in the Storm.
I want to say there was another thread on this a couple of weeks ago, but I'm not digging for it so I just posted it here.
This may be a lame question. But how fast is the 8330 processor and what are the video processor specs? Should I feel as if my 8330 curve is already a dead technology... Is it?

The 8830 and 8330 both are the MSM7500 chipset which last time I checked were only like 400MHz. The MSM7501A can be clocked to a max of 528MHz and also has another 274MHz coprocessor for something else. Could be security/math related, don't think it's for graphics.
Both the 7500 and 7501A are rated at 30FPS video with 18bit capabilities.

Yeah, one of the RIM/VZW documents about the storm said it had 528MHZ processor and a 274MHz co-processor. Not sure what that means though.

The chipset is a MSM7600. Also, it may be interesting to note that the speed is underclocked to what is recommended. It's supposed to be at 624. Close to 100 MHz may not sound like much, but it can make the difference between 1 second of processing time to 10 seconds of processing time. Like it was posted earlier, it's theoretical speed limit would be 1 GHz, but the heat might be too much. I wish RIM and Verizon would release an upgrade to at least 728-800 MHz.
Just like the BlackBerry 8800 series, the CDMA version of the BlackBerry Curve 8300 scaled back on the processor front from the GSM version. Gone is the Xscale 312MHz processor found on the Curve 8320 (T-Mobile) and the Curve 8310 (AT&T), instead the Curve 8330 gets the Qualcomm MSM6550 Chipset running at 225 MHz, an ARM9 family CPU.
Is this information correct? I've seen a lot of posts refer to 312mhz, and you say 400mhz.
