    all i hear every 10 minutes on TV is all this crap about Verizon having the largest 3G network... I've never once seen my phone say 3G. am i just stupid? does Verizon just now have 3G near me? is something wrong with my storm?

    all i ever see is D, 1X, 1XEV, or 1xev. never 3G. i live near Reading, PA. ive never seen it there. ive never seen it near Atlantic City, NJ when im going through Philly, Williamsport... nothing.

    can anyone clue me in as to why?

    EVDO is VZW's 3g network. When you see 1XEV you're connected to "3G".

    1XEV is Verizon's version of 3G...

    P.S. There are a number of threads dealing with this issue, so you might want to put on flame retardent clothing...

    I think I see what you're saying VK. Until I happened across it on this site one day, I didn't know that 1XEV meant 3G...or what any of the other stuff, like 1xev, etc.

    D, 1x, 1xev = No data transmission
    1X = 2.5G
    1XEV = 3G
