Are u serious? Jailbreak allows u to install 3rd party apps cuz apple is a money hungry ***** of a company. We can already install 3rd party apps, so I guess ur storm isalready jailbroken thanks to RIM!

My first question would be why would you want to jailbreak it. Blackberries arent limited to where you can get your apps from like the iphone is. You can install apps from wherever you would like. It is possible to unlock it though for SIM based carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile. I don't know how since I am on Verizon and I don't travel out of the US but it can be done. As far as apps we are limited to what is developed for the blackberry os.

Do people who ask about jailbreaking BlackBerries understand that jailbreaking an iPhone merely enables abilities on an iPhone that BlackBerries have right out of the box? (e.g. installing 3rd party apps without going through the manufacturer's app store, running themes). This isn't directed to the OP specifically, as I've seen several such threads in these forums in the past 48 hours.
I think he just wants all the cool apps that are on cydia to be in the storm. There is an app on cydia that allows you to tether for free, I wish I had that on my storm

Our version of Jailbreaking is the leaked OS's and hybrid OS's which can be loaded onto the phone. These enable a better phone than what the original carrier intended for the phone (or worse, if the leaked/hybrid OS sucks).
As far as the features of the jailbreak allow, RIM lets us do that already. Jailbreaking the iPhone simply allows more stuff that Apple says, no you may not have. We cannot have it simply because it's not coded right. You can't put a Macintosh program onto a Windows platform. And neither of those onto a Linux computer.
