I lost my wall charger so now I'm charging my Storm via USB and into my PC.
No problems charging it this way or so I thought.
So last night I shut down the PC and leave the micro-USB cable plugged into the Storm.
Morning comes and the damn thing is dead as a door-nail.
Totally drained of life was my battery
I had to power up the PC....then wait about 15 minutes for some charge to flow into the Storm ......before it came back to life.
    Whats up here?
I cant leave the Storm plugged into a non powered up PC without draining the life out of it?
This has happened 3-4 times now.

How is the phone supposed to charge with the PC off? You have to leave the PC on! Where would the phone get power from a PC that isn't on, really....

Oh I get it, this is a joke right?

yeah +1..incase you dont understand and Im not being a ******....if you pc is of the usb ports no longer supply power. A new charger is only 20 bucks, and usb charging can be not so good for your pc. anyhow hope you get it man.

Yeah, as already stated you must leave your computer powered on and if you use a laptop you must not close it, dont shut the screen, put it in sleep mode, etc.

I think his complaint was not about charging, but the fact that leaving his Storm connected to the unpowered pc drained the battery. I've never tried that so I don't know it that is normal or not... I think he would learn the lesson before he did it 3-4 times.

BTW I left mine off the charging cradle last night with 3/4 battery charge remaining. This morning it was dead... maybe it was aware that a powered off laptop was in the same room. But seriously there are some battery problems.

Has anybody tried charging their blackberry using the Xbox 360? It might stay on until it's charged (like how it charges other devices when it is in standby mode).

Get a wall charger pronto. The PC-USB charger is notorious for being non-functional.

    People, people, people.......
    Let me clarify:
The phone was fully charged up when I turned off the PC.
I inadvertently left the micro usb cable in whilst the PC was off.
    In the morning...dead Storm....dig it?

It will drain your battery if you leave it in your pc turned off! My ipod touch came with the warning not to leave it attached to my macbook, with macbook off as it will drain the battery.

Any time you have a battery connected to a electric circuit, that said battery will get discharged. That is why your storm batteries gets depleted .
