At 2:10 pm my handset froze up.
I was waiting for an important call around 2pm, and when I looked up at the wall clock it was 3:20. My storm still had the time 2:10, and network coverage indicators were fine (4 bars and all caps 1XEV). I immediately tried to make a phone call by pressing the green send button, and the handset wouldn't budge. I gave it a soft reset (battery pull) and after the 6 minute reboot made my call. When I spoke with the party that I was waiting for, they told me they had called 6 times and got my voicemail.

I am a Device specialist for a third party company that works closley with a certain wireless provider. My daily routine is comprised of educating said wireless company's customers on how to properly use their Blackberry's by keeping on top of closing applications, memory cleaning, soft resets and memory fragmentation. My memory I check my memory on my device at least 3 times daily, and it always sits at around 40.0 for application free memory, I have no 3rd party apps installed. My handset is optimized for performance, running os .75.

It just amazes me how unstable this operating system is. I think the most important factor for RIM to be working on at this point in the game is to make a stable operating system for this phone. I almost lost a 10k sale on a vehicle that I am selling because I thought the handset was working fine, when in fact it had locked up. This is my fourth replacement handset since aquiring the device in November. I really started to like this device until this happened today. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Sorry for the long rant, and mods, if this is in the wrong forum please move it. Thanks for listening.

Should be under rants and raves. More would comment on it. But that has happened to me before. Does this happen all the time? And memory at 40 all the time is pretty good.
