im running OS 5 on my storm. i have no extra apps running, the only thing running after a battery pull is bbm, phone symbol, home screen, messages, and browser ... why would i only have 28 mb of memory free?

when i first installed the new OS i was up in the 40s

OS5 takes more space than 4.7. It's normal to have between 25-35 free space running nothing. I remeber on my old storm running 5.0.0.328 with all my app it remains around 15mb...

You have a Storm, you must live with poor memory.... S2 have a lot more memory.

While that is true, if you shrink out all the crap you don't need you can free up a lot. I run at 46 free with 5.0.0.419 and I have Bolt, Facebook, Snaptu, BBM, SlideStorm, Berryjoose, Quicklaunch, Meterberry, iBerry Slide 1.3 theme, the elle knockoff theme, and the Transparency theme.

Wow really? ok dumb question...can you point me to the link or Thread that shows how to shrink all the crap?

I never run above 41 free and I only have 3 apps.

I got rid of BBM and all the verizon crap.

There's only about half of what the OS loads that you actually need. It's pretty ridiculous.

I'm on .451 and have about 48 at startup with facebook yahoo quick launch, call blocker, capture it, one aftermarket theme, app store,google maps,quick pull, youtube ,my Verizon and weatherbug
