what exactly did that do now that I rebooted my phone...afraid to look!!

Basically erased all personal data and files and set it to manufacturer state like when it came out of the box.

hmmm everything is still there...all my contacts and pictures. my wallpaper is the only that changed to the original Verizon logo

Did you just reboot it or did you actually wipe the phone? It sounds like you didn't wipe it or you would have lost all of your personal data.
If you simply performed a reboot, nothing bad will have happened.
