I just got a new blackberry storm (never used BB before) and when the phone is locked it won't make a noise showing I just received a text. It will vibrate, but not noise. Is there any way to fix this? I've already had to trade in my first storm for battery problems and this same text-notification issue. I'm hoping not to return this one. Please help!

Yes I am. I even went through all my contacts and made sure they had ringers set up for messaging. This is so frustrating.. :/

Maybe somehow you messed around with your profile settings. Go to profiles, and click ring tones/alerts. Then click messages/then click SMS text. Then make sure your volume is high, your LED is ON and sound in holster is on Yes.

This is the only thing I can think of that might be causing your problem.

Yeah do the above and then try a battery pull which solves 90% of issues. If it still isn't working then pop into a Vodafone/Verizon store.

What ringtone are you using for SMS messages? If it is LightSpeed, there is a bug and it will not make noise.
