    Hey all, sorry beforehand for these amateur question!

    first of all, i have a 9500..

    Regarding OS, i have "App version: 4.7.0.141 (195)" ... when people say ".167" or ".151" do they mean 4.7.0.167 ?? and what is "OSv5" ?? would that be 5.x.x.xxx ?? ( i havent seen any downloads for that so i assume thats wrong!)

    Thanks in advance guys, sorry again for stupid question but im really confused..

    Yes.

    Most of the OS' you'll find for the 95XX series are 4.7.0.XXX. OS5 is 5...well I'm not sure but it's definitely 5.X.X.XXX.

    Typically any OS5 you see tallrd about here will be 5.0.0.xxx.

    Ok thanks, and the last noob question...

    Are e.g. "4.7.0.176" softwares the same for 9530 and 9500?? for the os5 it says its for 9530... but does that really mean it wont work on my 9500?

    -> are there big differences between the two storm models?

    Yes. A 9530 OS will not work on a 9500. As for the differences, I'm not sure aside from the presence of a CDMA radio in the 9530.
