I have an unlocked storm(9530) and it is on the tmobile network. Two days ago my lock button stopped working so a friend said i should try installing the new OS that verizon just released.

Will the new OS ruin my unlocked phone?? like will it re-lock it? i really have no idea what to do but i feel like i need to upgrade the OS regardless! Please let me know what OS would be best for an unlocked storm on the tmobile network. Right now i am running the original 4.7.0.75 software.

It will NOT hurt your phone or affect the fact it is unlocked. Once a phone is unlocked, it stays unlocked.

You will need to download the new OS, install it on your computer and then delete the Vendor file.

Be sure to backup your data and third party apps before installing the new OS.
