New to a BB Storm and Forum... What Sould I do immediately?
- Whats up everyone? I'm a 1st time blackberry owner and im thinking about what should i do right when i get the phone? As far as Software updates, Apps, Tips, etc go. i want to know everything that would make the phone THAT much better. If you can include directions on how to do all the stuff that would be helpful I don't get the phone for atleast another week, but i would like to know everything before hand. I like tweaking my phones
I'm coming off a LG Dare so im not totally new to the touch, but really new to the blackberrys and cant wait to do a lot of things to the Storm. so i cant wait for my phone...
Thanks for your help and glad to be here at the crackberry forums now!
p.s. those howard forums for the Dare was getting really REALLY lame lol12-12-08 02:31 PMLike 0 - Perhaps you could read the sticky threads, including the one entitled "Popular Blackberry Storm Posts." Find the WIKI mentioned in other threads.
Everything you want to know is almost certainly already contained within the forum, just do a little reading first.12-12-08 02:35 PMLike 0 -
- 1.) Delete all the useless apps you will never use!
Options > Advanced Options > Applications > (Whatever App you won't use) > Menu Key > Delete > Enter > Reboot.
2.) Adjust your screens brightness to conserve battery life!
Options > Screen Keyboard > Backlight Brightness
3.) Automatically Dim Backlight
Options > Screen Keyboard > Automatically Dim Backlight > Yes
3.) Pray! j/k
Learn to LOVE your Menu Key- it'll be your best friend!
Someone around here said, "When in doubt, Pull it out (Your Battery of course)". This is paramount.
If all else fails, pull out your battery, and reboot. This works wonders.
I find that if your screen is lagging when it comes to the Accelerometer, hit the green dial button and it should adjust accordingly.
Just Follow it up with the Red Hang Up Key to bring you back to the Homescreen.12-12-08 02:38 PMLike 0 - 1.) Delete all the useless apps you will never use!

thanks! is this gonna make the phone run a lot smoother?12-12-08 03:21 PMLike 0 - Depends on how much memory you clean out.
BBs Come with alot of pre-packaged Drekk to impress buyers.
They run better with more memory free.
The Phone itself lags regardless, so you can only expect so much...
At least until they address it with an OS upgrade...12-12-08 03:24 PMLike 0 -
