I was backing up my data to prepare it fir the SW update and at the end of the back up an "error occurred" box popped up. Did I do something wrong or is it ok and I should just proceed with the update?

Goto advanced backup and add each database one at a time to the backup until you find the database that isn't backing up. It's probably the browser cache. Just skip that one (whichever it is) and back up the rest of the data.

how do you know which database is bad. there are a couple that are not in dark letters but in a light almost white text. are those the ones?
