Posting this in the storm forum because a ton of new to bb users have joined the ranks with the storm.

If you are sending out emails / sms messages or anything else on the bb really there is a few shortcuts for info..



all you have to do is type what I show and hit space



mynumber
this inserts your phone number

mypin
this inserts your pin number for bb

myver
this will show your device model and current os version, or app version
(the reason I say app version is for email its going to display your OS version, but in aim msn and most other apps it will display the APP version along with device version if that makes sense)

Also if you type

"lt" than a space it puts the current time
"ld" than a space puts the date

l = L

I will also be submitting this for the ultimate tips thread but when put in the thread it may not come up correctly for searching.

You can create and edit these also. Go to options>autotext>menu key.
You can create a new one for a signature for example: add a one for "sig" then what you want it to say. Then everytime you type in "sig" then hit the spacekey your signature will show.
I just that for an example, but you can be creative!
