Sorry for the memory question I am just quite curious about my phone.
Over the course of the day I havent used my blackberry what so ever. I put it on my desk and just left it alone.

I took a capture of my memory log

Is it normal when not even using the phone that it would drop this much?

Yes, it is normal. Bear in mind a few things:

    1) The Blackberry Storm is a sophisticated and complex device running a multitasking OS with several processes running in the background at any given moment in time. So what this means is that even if you aren't actively using the device, there are still programs that run on the Storm that consume memory.

    2) Memory that is unused is not necessarily reported as free. In many cases, unused memory will still retain its contents and not be counted towards free memory totals. This is a form of caching, analogous to the page cache in most modern desktop operating systems. If free memory drops below a set threshold, a process called garbage collection will kick in that finds these unused blocks of memory and purge their contents. But until that happens, it's normal for memory to be consumed and not be freed immediately.
