Are you using BES enterprise service or personal emails like Yahoo and hotmail? If using BES, you'll have to block or filter junk mails at the server level. If using personal emails, you can setup the spam filter yourself and have them not being forwarded to you BB.
Yes, you want the style of filter like "send me emails if they are from these addresses and DO NOT send any others". Then, you can always use your Browser to check emails in any of your accounts regardless of this filtering. I have Verizon, so I go to www.blackberry.com/go/vzw. I your case, you need to find the address for T-mobile.

My Tmobile Online won't help the OP because they are using verizon for their service provider. But what ouki and DoctorNeutron said is what needs to be done to fix the problem.
