    They made you use *insurance* for that? It sounds more like a defect that would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty which, unless I mistaken, is 1 year.

    It never hurts to have insurance cuz you never know when your gonna need it. Its also good to have it comes in handy my fellow bb members.

    its just like medical insurance. You dont think you need it until you actually do need it. Its well worth it in my opinion unless you like to drop 500 bucks for a replacement.

    Yup that's true then when you do need it you be crying like a baby cuz you never got the insurance.

    ive never bought insurance for anything (haha besides my car and house) and have never regretted it depends on how much you trust your self to take care of your things.

    I've used my insurance a couple of times. I'd much rather pay $50 instead of $200+ for a new device. They even cover it if it id lost or stolen.

    That's true but only to a certain extent. My wife 'takes care of her things' but the screen on her Storm cracked due to a fall onto a ceramic floor from a mere ~3 feet. All it has to do is land the wrong way and, boom, insurance claim or trip to VZW to fork over 500 beans.

    Buying a case and screen protector is probably better, but if you are negligent with the phone, then you may want to consider the warranty.
