Storm Maintenance Release (MR1) Available 12/5

A BlackBerry Storm Maintenance Release (MR1) is available to customers
as of 12/5.

Customers will start receiving a wireless upgrade icon on Friday 12/5
advising them that the update is available.

Note: This update may take up to 2 hours to complete. Customers will
not be able to use their Storm during the update process. They can
choose to upgrade immediately or schedule it for a later time.

MR1 Enhancements: The maintenance release name is MR1 4.7. 0.75
(107), Platform 4.0.0.94.

This release provides several enhancements to Storm customers:

Device Performance

Intermittently, the device may reset while sitting idle or when using
Multimedia applications. Minimized in MR1.

GUI

Improvements in display performance in terms of switching between
landscape and portrait modes and keys displaying correctly.

Voice

Intermittently, a user may experience a one-way audio (incoming audio
is muted) condition when using voice activated dialing.

Multimedia

Intermittently, while listening to music (on low volume) with �Wired�
stereo headsets, if the user receives an incoming call, the audio
volume of the music will increase to the highest level. In this state,
the user will experience an unexpected increase in volume.
Improvements in performance for multi-media applications such as
video, music and MMS.

Bluetooth

Improvements in Bluetooth audio performance in certain scenarios.

Voice

Improvements in call routing when dialing specialty numbers (*611, #DATA, #BAL).

Voicemail

Reports of customers being unable to connect to voicemail when
manually dialing *86. Customers get a recording stating "Cannot
complete call as dialed".

Methods of Delivery

As of 12/5, methods of delivery for the Storm MR1 include:

WebSL and OTASL � Scheduled for Noon Eastern
VZAM BlackBerry Site � Scheduled for 6 PM Eastern
Downloading and installing BlackBerry Handheld Software - Over-The-Air
Software Loading (OTASL)

Well, I'm getting something right now. I logged onto the DM at exactly noon, and it immediately updated my system software and my core app. It's connecting to the device as we speak.

States that your device will receive an Icon stating its ready... just wait, there are thousands of storms out that that the System has to cycle through all at once. It will eventually get to you.

yah their releasing it in waves OTA and all should have it by 3 pm est and 6 pm est via desktop .

I'm really sorry if this question has been covered before. But I will be getting my Storm today from Fedex, should I update first before activate? Can you do that?

Yeah I spoke with a rep cause again my phone is just shutting off. Told me to look out for an icon on my home screen. But did not give a specific time it will be there. Told me if not there by days end to call back and will get me another device.

Hi guys, excuse me if this is a stupid question.

I thought that this update today was going to be a new version other then .75 . It seems though that it will be .75 - correct? If we have the leaked .75 version, there is probably no reason to bother with this update eh? What are you guys doing?

Also, maybe I'm high, but I thought Verizon had already released the official .75 update? Please correct me. Thanks a bunch guys ...

Says.. The new software version is v4.7.0.75 (Platform 4.0.0.94).

Update Schedule

Important: Please note the varying release times.

The Web Software Load (WebSL) files will be posted by 12pm, Friday 12/5 for customers to begin downloading the software

The first Over the Air Software Load (OTASL) pokes will be sent beginning at 12pm, Friday 12/5

The vzam.net/blackberry site will be updated by 6pm, Friday 12/5 to include the software download

I think they may be giving priority to those running .65. I downgraded yesterday and today it let me right on. It just gave me .75 (107) platform 94. I'm still checking out the updates to see if it's any different from the leaked version...

i don't believe so ,, but then again im not sure if the official version is any differnet then the leaked ... i hope so , but then again if there was ANY changes made it would go to .76 , .77 and so on.

You will need to activate your new device, before you can download and install the update via OTAP.

are those with leaked .75 going to go back to .65 and use the official release or is not worth the effort.

I plugged into DM at 11:00 am EST and it immediately notified me that an update was available. I loaded it and it is .75 platform .94.
