I got my storm unlocked and put in a new sim card, and changed my network to GSM. However, my verizon number is still showing up in the phone app, not the number of the sim card i put in. I'm afraid to use it as I don't want to use verizons plan and spend a lot of money.
any ideas how to use my sim card rather than verizon's roaming?
That display is purely cosmetic. Make sure you're on GSM mode and make sure the network indicator in GSM. If it is, you'll be using the SIM. The number in the phone app comes from the CDMA chipset provisioning... something you don't want to change as when you get back, it won't work.
