Can I log 2 or more separate events for the same time on the calendar? For example: Is there a way to post 2 or more events for 7pm so that they will show up on the home screen. Do I need to use a different calendar program?

I do it all the time. Just create a new entry and use the times you want. It will say it conflicts, but will save the item(s) none the less.
