My OS is being updated and it keeps telling me that I need to delete some memory. Does this usually happen? I don't seem to have that many programs on my phone at all. But most importantly, how do you delete downloaded themes?

elw: my friend also had that problem. You may have inadequate memory due to memory leaks. When is the last time you rebooted your phone? That might help so you don't have to erase your themes.

Okay, I erased the themes. When updating to the new official OS, is it supposed to be taking up a lot of room? Because I have barely any apps

The process takes up more memory, because it has to temporarily download certain files to your phone in order to complete the upgrade. Once the upgrade is done, and you do a battery pull, you should be able to add those things back to your phone.

Oh, I should have backed up my phone to my computer, right?

Yes. You should ALWAYS back up your phone before doing any kind of upgrade. You should do the normal backup, and also a 3rd party apps backup. The process is supposed to restore everything for you, but it doesn't always. Better to be safe than sorry.
