This may be a dumb question,but how do I get the main screen to show only 4 icons instead of eight? I'd like to see more of my homescreen image. Searched the forums and didnt come up with anything. Thanks.

from homescreen BB button>options>homescreen layout

From the main menu press the BB button and click options. Change the "home screen layout."

Do a battery pull and try again. There's a known bug with the options choice not always showing/working on the home screen.

Agree with paulmike, this is a known bug that sometimes the options will not show up even if you press BB button > options. It's been around since at least .83, maybe even earlier.

agreed....i had it on .65, but not on .75

I had the bug on .75, don't seem to have it on .99.

I just want to clarify that people aren't confusing the home screen with the screen that shows your wallpaper and eight icons. If your screen shows your two rows of four icons each, pressing the blackberry button will go to the screen showing sixteen icons. It is from there that you follow the directions posted in the first response. Or you could have just searched the forums.


Edit : when you press and hold the blackberry button to bring up the task manager/list of open programs, the house icon is titled "home screen.". Selecting this takes you to the screen showing sixteen icons.
