I was wondering if there was a way to make the top banner smaller to show more of the background image, either through a theme or setting change. Not a big deal but it just takes up so much screen real estate that I would prefer to show my wallpaper.

Yes, well kind of. You can set the row of icons from 2 to 1.
Just go to options in when you're in the home screen.

you can reduce the number of rows of icons on the bottom by clicking the BB key>options while you're on the home screen

this will show more of your background image

I appreciate the help but I do know about the icons. I should have been more specific that I was talking about the TOP banner...it just seems unnecessarily big.
