Am I not understanding something here or is my home screen being redundant? On my Home Screen, there are several tabs, but the 1st two are Messaging and [email protected] (my work email via BIS).
I click on each one and they both show me the same thing. And when I get an email, both show a new message has arrived.
what gives and how can I get rid of the messaging tab?
You have a default "Messages" icon, and one specifically for your work email. Since those are the only messages you are receiving, they show the same in both folders. If you were to have more than on email address attached to your device, when you received a new mail, it woul show up in the icon associated with that email, and the default "Messages" icon. What most people do is simply hide the icons related to their specific email and use the catch-all "Messages" icon.
