i have stripped my storm of basically all but basic core apps and 1 or 2 small 3rd party apps.. my app memory is only at 21 MB... how is it i read some people have over 40 MB of free app memory? i have searched and searched and done all the tips and tricks.. but still cannot find how mine is *lower* compared to everyone elses...
any ideas?
You have to shrink your OS before you install it. With nothing on there you will get 50-60mbs. If you leave core apps you should have at least mid 40s.
have gmaps, meterberry, berryweather, CB and BBOS launchers, iheartradio, slacker, FB, MINI Opera, BB scanner, Microsky, MaxMen, GSync, and MSN, yahoo, Gtalk. 33.6MB as of now. according to meterberry dropped -.06MB since this morning

Did you run as admin? This is the error I made when I did this last night. It kept saying my Java folder was at 72mB. I closed and reopened SAOS as admin, hit shrink OS, and I was down to 36mB in my Java folder.
I then used the loader.exe from SAOS and I was good to go.
I thought I would of gotten more free App memory, but I am now steady at 45mB.
