How come with the storm, they do NOT allow you to determine how many vibrations or rings the unit does...

like on the others (Curve, Pearl) you can set it for 1, 2 or 3...

Really??? I said message ACCOUNT, meaning, select which account (SMS, EMAIL, MMS...) you want to customize.

that # is only for vibration bursts

guys, maybe im not saying this right, but you cannot change the number of bursts that it rings AUDIBLY...for example, when I get a text message, I just dont want ONE BURST, i want to increase it...and you CANNOT on this device..

still the same..i only get one ring, but then vibrates. What I want was three rings, not three vibrations. Any thoughts on how to do that?

oh you mean for msgs? i dunno i havent been able to find a 'ring burst' for msgs. i know on a call it just repeats the sound. worst case scenario, take a ringtone and edit it / make it however long you like or find one that is like that. pretty simple. if anyone DOES find a way to make a ring repeat x amount of times for something like an SMS, do tell.

You could make your own ringer...

so if i don't have the holster for this phone, and i just want it to vibrate OR ring? say when i go to bed, i turn my ringer on. when it's in my pocket, i have it on vibrate. i just changed my vibrate settings to 3 bursts, but by doing so it disables the sound.

am i going to have to create a custom profile to accomplish this?

I would like to know this as well. I want my calendar to ring 3 times, not just once! This is gonna be a real problem . Why would they take away that one simple feature?
