    Hi
I arrived in South America.. and I made sure to set up my global account.
It worked for the first 3 days even in the jungle 6 hours away from the nearest town.. On the way back I turned the phone off to preserve the battery and when I arrive dhome I lost the ability to email, or phone..

My mobile network box is ticked on

The phone is flasking green which means I am connected
All the appropriate boxes are ticked in theMobile network options
    Data services are on
    Mobile network is listed
Network selection mode is on automatic

Network technology is set to global

Do I have to turn on the radio?
I do not know how to do that..

I have seen it referred to as a radio before.
Please help.. I cannot even use the phone feature

    Thank you in advance

did you switch your data pkge to the global one? I think its like $65/mth. But you just switch it back to the normal one once your back in the states. Its not the phone, but vzw will not let you do email with out this upgrade in plan when traveling abroad. good luck

When my light flashes green that means my battery is dead and the phone has shut off the radio to preserve battery. Try charging the phone and then manually turn the radio back on.

Click "manage connections" to turn the radio on.

actually a orange light means this..

Flashing green means you have connection to a cell network..

I would try resending your service books

    How to resend service books.

    From Device:

Options>Advanced options> Host Routing Table> BB Key (menu key)> Register now

    Then go to
setup>email settings> Log in (if you remember your user name and password) Once logged in hit BB Key (menu key) and Service Books.

    Or

Go to this site for verizon
    https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw

    or your carrier's bis site.

login or create a account and resend service books. Make sure you check to see if your emails accounts are activated.

If you can't login or can't make a account call the carrier they can help you get the account setup.

Try giving VZW Global Support a ring. I think if you call from your cell phone you are not charged. The Number should be in your Sim Card's phone book.

someone suggested a wipe .. so I wiped my phone clean of all email adresses, the opportunity to even set up my already established email accounts on yahoo, comcast and g mail.
I am only able to set up some blackberry account.. and eventhough the green light is flashing that says I am connected I have no internet service.

I am doing work on dial up and I am ready to strangle myself

tried the host routing table but it tells me that I do not have internet service so its not working..
the phone does not work either

what the heck is wrong with this thing..
    I cannot phone anyone..
It all worked perfectly even in the jungle 100's of kilometers away..

    what to do now?

I would suggest calling Verizon and finding out if the account is set up properly. They can probably also walk you thru getting it working again.
