So, it doesnt happen when Im in landscape mode, but in portrait mode often shows a red message indicator asterisk when there is no message. It shows in the sms icon and sometimes in the email icon. Im very capable with the blackberry storm and have confirmed that there are no actual messages in voice, email, sms, mms, bb messenger or otherwise. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with a similar issue, along with a solution? I did a phone reset by taking our and replacing the battery, but the problem returned. : (. Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.

did you check your saved messages, i have seen sometimes people move an unopned message to the the save folder

Check your call log for missed calls. Sometimes that will cause this.

If under Options, Advanced Options, Accessibility - you changed home screen to grid to 4x4... That causes the red message indicator to flake out abit... If you did change that... change back to default and see if it fixes it?
