You might want to hold off for a couple days, that's for sure not for the faint of heart and it's really hard to find a solution to a problem you can't really describe..

I wouldnt try to do it without JL-Cmdr. I have used it twice and it works well. Why do you need something else? Are you on a Mac?

Options///security options///general settings/// hit BB (menu) key and select wipe handheld.

This is not a true wipe of the device however, it only returns the device to a factory fresh state. JL completely removes everything including the OS, kind of like the difference between reinstalling windows and deleting windows down to DOS on a PC.
