So i know that peeps can flash firmware so the storm is able to go to other carriers..but I want to know if anyone knows of any (hopefully) free software to flash my firmware so that my storm doesn't look like a storm to verizon. I want to be able to downgrade my plan to one without internet and everything and just want it to be able to function as a regular phone and i'm hoping that's possible...any ideas???
It is not possible to use a BlackBerry (or any other smartphone) on VZW without a data plan. You would be better off selling the BlackBerry and purchasing a feature phone if you do not want the data plan. The ESN will automatically show VZW that you have a BlackBerry, and ESNs cannot be legally altered per FCC regulations. Cell Phone Fraud
