I did a search but maybe I'm wording incorrectly.

When I get emails the flashing red light times out after a while. This appears to be by design.

I've gone into the alerts and unless I'm just missing it I can't see anything that will make it last longer.

Is there a way to extend the flashing red email alert?

Ready for flashing flames, fire away!

I think this is currently a bug in the OS, I've seen the same behavior in every OS version I've used on my Storm yet. From experiences with all my other Blackberry devices the light isn't supposed to time out but rather it should stay on until you've checked the inbox or notification with the new messages/alerts.

I got the BlackBerry Alerts for this...it's a paid app, but really worth it to me because I like the LED to remain active until I've checked my Storm. Plus the option to set different colors etc. so I know what the LED is for...email, text, calendar, etc.

Glad to know its not just me. I'm sure it helps with the battery.

I'm thinking about that. It's got a 7 day free trial. Why not give it a go?

To correct here: There is no bug in the OS system for this. The blinking indicator is scheduled to stop blinking 15 minutes if it goes unchecked. There is no way to make it last longer, if there were, I think they should call it "ViagraBerry".
