I was watching the browser video on the front page of Crackberry.com, and I noticed something. When he browses to Vodafone.co.uk, the Flash banner at the top of the page is working. Am I missing something, or does the Storm's browser support Flash?

from every indication given, there is no flash support yet for bb browser, or opera mini for that matter. if anybody who has the phone across the pond can confirm this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Can we get a shout-out from Crucial or someone else familiar with the device?

If, and when, flash support comes to the BlackBerry, it will be a very publicized feature. Because there has been no word of it, then you can assume that it doesn't.

BB Browser doesn't have flash support... at least not yet. I never heard any plans to incorporate it. I used it today and went to a site with flash and it gave the message to install flash player.

Watch the video - that's a Flash banner from Voda's page on 11/8, according to Google cache.

the flash feature has nothing to do with the browser, RIM, or VZW.
it's an issue with adobe; flash will work once adobe makes a flash player that is compatible with the browsers in mobile phones.

It's possible that the web site kicked the browser over to a mobile version of the site.

I tried it out on my Bold, with both Firefox and BlackBerry UA's. In the spot where the Storm displays a banner, my Bold has just white space. On my desktop, in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, it displays a Flash banner.

If it was a mobile version, it's a pretty advanced mobile version - all the other graphics and layouts are identical to what is on the full desktop version of the Vodafone site.

Except Adobe already DID do this... it's called Flash Lite. It's up to developers of web browsers to incorporate it. Opera Mobile uses it. Adobe could make one that will specifically for one browser, except they won't unless they get paid.

This is interesting though. Viewing the video it does show the banner but maybe it redirected to a mobile site and it's actually an animated GIF.

Think I'll head back to the VZW store tomorrow and test this out for myself. But I can tell you this, I already visited flash enabled sites and it just shows the download flash link, which will not work.

Except Verizon doesn't release this until 11/21? How are you going to go to a VZW store to test it?

Some local VZW stores already have demo models out.

Could the flash banner being mentioned in the video actually be an animated gif banner? That should show up on any smartphone. I haven't checked the video out yet, but I design web sites, and have created a few gif banners.
