Can you post a pic of the about screen?
It's not that I don't believe you, but the rule here seems to be: pics or it didn't happen.

Can't test it myself since my Storm is coming tomorrow and I don't know if this is VZW only or Voda as well.

Results may vary? You create this whole thread built on suspense, and then when you finish downloading, you tell us results may vary? Do you notice anything different? Are there release notes? Is anything quicker?

Sorry guys I had to go for a second and didn't have time to type anything logner. It IS the same version, as I have mentioned. It is about 10MB smaller, however.

From my short use of it, the free memory enables you to have more apps open and not get slowed down horribly.

Theres already a ton of memory on this phone!

For sure. There is no way it could be any worse, and free memory is free memory.

Look into each (preferred or current). See which install is smaller with nothing else selected. The one with 50MB is it, 60MB is not.

Screen shot of what? It's not a new firmware, just a smaller version of the current one.

I know. You said it was a different platform, .92. Does it show that platform number under Options/About or is it the same as most of us, .82?

I was under the impression that I said it was the same platform. It's still .82.

Okay. I have the .92 PLATFORM installed on my computer. (Local installation) If you go to the BB website and use the online upgrade option (a non-local installation) and select no extra options, the space required is 50MB. My local installation requires 60 for just the minimum options. Does this mean that the online OS (there is a new one, there are 2 there, the downgrade and the current, but 3 for me inlcuding the local install.)

BOTTOM LINE - I will try this, but is the firmware now 10MB smaller?

    CROSS YOUR FINGERS!
Did you mistype the PLATFORM number is this post?

OK so the PACKAGE from Desktop manager says 4.7.0.92, but the platform still stays at .82.
