does anyone realize call reception doesn't compare.
- Yes, the mic location is on the bottom of the handset and sometimes I find my pinky covering the little hole. I had problems with my original Storm where everyone that I talked to told me that I sounded muffled or far away. I got a replacement phone 3 days ago and it is much better than the first Storm that I got. Everyone that I talk to now say that I sound a lot better.12-18-08 06:00 PMLike 0
- Try *228 and choose the option to update your PRL
What are the steps I need to take to complete this update?
The following are the steps you need to take to complete the update:
1. Power on your Verizon Wireless phone
2. Dial *228 from your home digital coverage area, followed by the SEND key
3. When prompted, press option #2, to update your phones roaming capabilities (This process may take up to 2 minutes)
4. Once completed, a confirmation message will be played, and a message will display on the phone screen.12-18-08 06:10 PMLike 0 -
For me, the signal meter on my Storm consistently reads ~5dB less than my wife's Curve in the same location.12-18-08 06:10 PMLike 0 - My last Storm (that didn't click so well) had fantastic call quality. Now my replacement clicks like a dream, but everyone says they can hardly hear me because I sound really muffled. Since they both had the same OS, upgrades, and Software, I fear this may be a hardware defect on my new replacement. I hate the idea of giving up my replacment becuase the screen clicks like a dream! Oh, what to do.12-18-08 06:18 PMLike 0
- I haven't dropped a call since I got the Storm. Also, my phone is actually 'ringing' when some one calls.... with my RazorV3 everybody would call me but my damn phone would hardly ever ring. So, far every call is crisp and clear.12-18-08 08:02 PMLike 0
- When I got the Storm I was switching from US Cellular which had great coverage in my area so I was a little worried about making the switch.
I have to say that so far the coverage and sound quality have been just as good on Verizon. Haven't had any issues with dropped or missed calls yet but I'm not a heavy phone user either. Maybe 4-5 calls a day.
My wife and son have phones also and haven't heard any complaints from them and if the wife isn't complaining it must be ok.........lol12-18-08 08:14 PMLike 0 - Call quality is excellent for me. However, I NEVER seem to have 5 full bars. I typically have less than 3. Also, I am not finding the 3g internet to be very fast at all12-18-08 08:30 PMLike 0
- I don't have a problem with reception or signal strength. I have a problem with call clarity. I have to repeat things constantly or people say I sound scratchy or garbled.
I've noticed on EVERY Verizon phone I've ever had (too many to count) that whenever I call the *228, the recording sounds "warbly" and generally of a poorer quality than a live call ever sounds. Doesn't bother me because I don't call it often. Now though, that's what folks say I sound like when I'm talking to them on my Storm. That's the issue I have a problem with because first and foremost, it IS a phone.12-19-08 12:02 AMLike 0
