I recently purchased the blackberry storm but I am an AT&T customer. I've unlocked my phone but it doesn't work with the AT&T SIM. Do I need to sign up a service with Verizon in order to get my phone unlocked? If so, if i cancel the service with Verizon, will my phone deactivate and not work again? Thanks.
I don't think unlocking the phone itself is dependant on any service. I think you need go to one of the sub-forums with all the How-Tos. In there you'll find a guide about how to get your unlocked phone working for AT&T. You DO have to load some different files on the phone (service books) and make a few tweaks, after that you should be able to stick your SIM in and voila.
