Is there a way to set the SMS messages to display as a chat? Meaning all sent and received messages between a friend and I to be combined into one message - this way my inbox doesnt have millions of incoming SMS from the same person-same coversation?

You mean kind of like the Iphone (probably the only thing I liked about it). I don't think so, though I'm sure someone has an app to that affect.

Ive never used an iPhone and have gone into detail with it. But like an email or chat. Where the whole conversation is in one message. Its seems to be this way sometimes, but then other times it seperates everything.

Example.

You: Hi
Me: Hello Whats up
You: Nothin chillin

etc. etc.

So - sometimes it shows this way (like a chat in one message) and other times the HI and NOTHIN CHILLIN will look like 2 different messages in my inbox.

That would be threaded text messaging. You can try the below and see how you like it. There aren't a lot of good options for threaded text yet.
