Resting my thumb on some letters makes similar characters, usually accented, pop up. I do not use this feature. Can I disable it?

No. Don't rest your thumb and this magically stops happening.

It does come in handy sometimes. Like when you're in a url field, rest on any key and after a couple of seconds a slash / appears. I also like how the period key will turn into an ellipsis ...
