    To remove the wallpapers, etc.. that reside in system memory.

    Or is there a better way to do it that I don't know about?

    Have you tried selecting the wall paper on the device and hitting delete from the blackberry menu button?

    that doesn't work. It's locked to read-only

    You do not need crackmem to get rid of that stuff but it does make it easier. I have yet to try but following the memory optimization guide should also work with the storm.

    To actually answer your question, yes, I've tried it, and it works just fine with .83.
