You know theres a lot of talk how the BB OS sucks and there is RARELY any supporting details - well this is one of them. No built in protection on files stored on BB? Come on RIM - thats not cool. I know some of you might be saying use password on entrance into phone - well that would be easy wouldn't it but I expect something a little more from a "smartphone".
Well, you can set a device password. i have my password timeout set for 30 minutes. But i almost always press the lock button when i set my BlackBerry down.
i don't have a need to protect just one or two files because no one is playing with my BlackBerry. i have control over it.
Maybe if enough people need this feature, it will be added. At least we have 3rd party apps!

When I said "I know some of you might be saying use password on entrance into phone" I really meant setting a device password, which I prefer not to do. I'm in control of my BB at all times too but I have a sensitive file on there and if it were to get lost that would be the only thing that I would really want protected.
This is a basic example of device funtionality or lack thereof.
