    Damn it is pretty annoying but it wouldn't be so bad if we could set it to different tones...and it seems to be slowing up my typing a bit.

    It already makes a sound...I think adding a second sound, no matter what it is would be extremely annoying to me.

    the problem about it being annoying is actually in your head. you got used to typing with the audible click turned off, and now that its on.... its an irritation. thats whats slowing you down... even if its a minor irritation its still a distraction, and it will cause you to make mistakes or double check what youre typing, which will slow you down. eventually youll get used to it, and when i say "youll get used to it", i mean that youll learn how to tune out the noise, which in turn negates having it turned on in the first place. at that point all it is is an annoyance to everybody around you. id leave it off and not give it a second thought.

    I turned this option on and don't hear a thing. What am I doing wrong? I am using OS .167. Don't know if that's why it's not working.

    No, my typing didn't slow down mechanically, it was just taking longer for the letters to show up on the screen; and yes, the NOISE was beepBeepbeepiNg in my head unpleasantly, I like clicking sounds, nOt beeps. It reminds me of when my parents were dying of cancer, honestly. Thanks though, Freud.
    The audible click does not turn off.
