    Is there a way to turn the backlight off the buttons (send, end, blackberry, back buttons) during a call?

    I have a screen lock program that automatically dims the screen but i would like the keys to turn off too.

    When I use my phone at night in the dark it just bothers me having the bright light.

    Just personal preference I guess. Thanks!

    Are you on 5.x by any chance? If so, this is the way it's going to be from now on as they've made some changes to the screen detection field so that when you put it up to your face, it dims the screen and turns off click selection, but the main buttons remain backlit.

    If so, you're wasting your time and money on screen lock programs during calls. You can pull them off, you won't be pressing buttons anymore.

    i would recommend not because if you need to dial during a call like a voicemail password you would need to have them lit
