I have not had a problem with this one bit. I have been charging while playing MP3 as well as streaming from Orb and Moodio. The sound from this device is actually quite nice. I listen with my senheisuer ear buds most of the time except while outside doing anything physical. Then I use my S9 BT headset.
It's not the fault of the phone. I have had that problem with just about any mp3/phone; once electricity comes into play, it seems as if there is some interruption causing the noise, dirty power maybe
