How much application memory does a brand new blackberry storm 9530 have? I know that RIM lists it at 128 mb, but I just got a new BB Storm from Verizon and before installing ANY third party apps, it only had 30 mb or so of app memory.

I ask this because during a recent call with Verizon tech support I was lectured for having "too many" apps. At the time I was having bad memory leak and the rep from Verizon said he had a handful of apps on his Storm, but had somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 mb of free app memory. I find this a little hard to believe since the brand new Storm I received only had 30 mb.

    Thanks.

Has anyone else noticed that Facebook 1.7's memory leak came back after 5.0 was released?

90mb is stupid. To have that much free he must have deleted every app off the phone and is not using it to its max. You won't really start running into problems unless you regularly drop under 10mb so 30mb is fine.

Running leaked .328 on a 9500 (uk) and found memory leak almost non existent. Dropping maybe 0.4 in 24hrs. Can't say I've noticed any issues with facebook but obviously must be a difference between official 9530 .328 and leaked 9500 .328.

That's what I thought. 90mb+ seemed way to high. I haven't installed all the apps I use on my new Storm yet, but I've installed some big ones (BB Messenger 5.0, facebook, google maps) and am at 30mb+ after battery pull.

    Thanks, everyone, for your help.

The most I saw was 50 and that was immediately after my upgrade and before I installed my 3rd party apps. Now I'm between 30-40.

If you have apps installed from BB Appworld, there are archive copies of the apps in your device memory.
Appworld already retains account data and archives so you can delete
the archive copies from the device memory with no worries.
