I have heard people relate application memory to RAM, and say that if app memory isn't being used it is being wasted. But from my understanding is that when you install an app, some of the app memory goes away whether the new app is running or not. (I might be wrong) But I am pretty sure RAM does not do that. Is app memory like a combination of ram and a harddrive?

(PS I did do a search which rarely ever seems to work, and I thought since I labeled this thread Application memory when other people search for this same idea it will be easy to find.)

Just disregard. I just installed like 5 apps and the app memory didnt really go down. Couldn't figure out how to delete or would have.
