New to the Blackberry world, but from my understanding you can download google maps from the google website on AT&T and download ringtones off of mxertones on them as well. Does Verizon also support this or will it be another inconvience?

Yes. I have google maps and many ringtones downloaded on mine. Verizon doesn't limit what I can d/l
