Oh I forgot.... To get EDGE to work, go to your connections settings then under mobile network selection mode.... Switch 1X/global to GSM/UMTS. EDGE should be active.
Also, you might want to erase the telus TCP settings. If you're using it with a FIDO/Rogers, the TCP can be left blank.... Or you can put in
Everything seems to work fine, except step 7, where I get "Failed to swithc into DM mode" , when I press the DM !!!
What to do and where to go from here?
and what do you mean by "HF->" in step 7?
I know the DM button, but what do you mean by "HF->" ?
I've got the phone from Telus, but I don't have cdma in my area, I only have gsm.
How important is port 4? I can connect on port 2, but on step 8 it gives me an error on reading at the memory address. I've tried all the memory addresses listed in this thread, I've even subtracted 10000 from the address using a HEX calculator, but still cannot read at the address.
I performed a memory scan, but it just failed to read at 0x0000000, and nothing happened when it completed, no option to save the file.
Any ideas? Almost forgot, the phone has been programmed with a real phone number, just not my GSM.
I have been able to create a bin file without this step but I cannot locate the 6 digits needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This activation required on the screen is annoying to look at.
rolandj:
do you mind messasing me with your email address since I cannot PM you. I have the bin file that I would like for you to look at. thanks

Good day,
I have an unlocked Telus Storm 9530. And i am trying to get rid of this stupid "Activation required". I have dones everything in UniCDMA but the last part. When i put starting address as 0x17c47cce and length to 524288 or the starting address as 0x17c455be and length to 524288 and click read and save i get this error
4:11:27 PM : Reading 524288 bytes of memory, starting from 0x17C47CCE
4:11:27 PM : Read error at address 0x17C47CCE
or
"Reading 524288 bytes of memory, starting from 0x17C455BE
4:12:14 PM : Read error at address 0x17C455BE
I have the same problem with Ali303, read error at address ......, tried 3 different address suggested in this & other forum, the same. Any suggestion for different address?
There's no "generic" code (like 0's or 1's), it is a unique one specific to your phone.
I had trouble with the first set of number that rolandj provided but the second set he suggested worked.
For those having a problem with the COM port, you have to go into "device manager" from 'my computer' and change the "rim virtual serial" port.
As for a starting address, I'm not quite sure about it.

Try this set that was provided for me. It may work for others..
